- What is Dimensional Weight?
|
- Dimensional Weight or "Dim" Weight - This is a standardized
formula used throughout the freight industry that takes into account
the dimensions or density to determine the correct charge . Jet
Delivery charge the higher of either the weight of a shipment,
or its dimensional weight, whichever is greater. The industry
standard Dimensional Weight Factor of 194 is used in the calculation.

|
- Released Value is the amount the item is worth to the parties
involved. The Released Value is like insurance. If you declare
the value of an item, you need to pay insurance in the amount
of $0.75 (USD) for each $100.00 of value. For any shipment handled
by Jet Expedited there is a released value.
...released to an amount not exceeding
$50.00 (USD) for any shipment of 100 pounds or less and not
exceeding $0.50 (USD) per pound for shipments weighing in excess
of 100 pounds. An additional charge of $0.75 (USD) will be assessed
for each $100.00 (or fraction thereof), by which the value declared
by a shipper exceeds $0.50 (USD) per pound or $50.00 (USD) (whichever
